Royal Family LIVE: ‘Disaster’ Meghan Markle has ‘nothing to show’ as Queen steps down | royal | News
The Prince of Wales is facing a ‘high-profile boycott’ of his coronation by his son Prince Harry is the ‘stuff of nightmares’ for the heir, a royal biographer has claimed.
Charles recently reunited with his youngest son in a surprise reunion. Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, secretly stopped in the UK en route to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
They traveled to Windsor, where they met the Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and later the Queen.
While Harry spoke fondly of his reunion with his grandmother, the Duke of Sussex did not mention his encounter with Charles, which was reportedly described as “edgy” and “tense” by royal sources.
Shortly after Harry and Charles met, Private Eye reported that the Duke is expected to decline to attend his father’s coronation if, as expected, Camilla is crowned alongside him.
The report says: “A red line has recently emerged, however.
“Harry has no intention of attending his father’s coronation if Camilla is to be anointed and crowned just yards from where her mother’s coffin rests at Westminster Abbey.
“[The Queen] may have given Camilla his blessing to become queen consort, but Harry refuses to comply.
Duncan Larcombe, who for many years was royal correspondent for The Sun, told The Daily Beast last week it would be a ‘high-profile boycott’ of Charles’ coronation.
