The first set of a music festival can be an uncrowded performance as customers walk around slowly. But empty seats were a rarity at Station 34 when Mount Prospect rock band Third Step on the Moon launched on day two of 56 Music Fix on Saturday.
Chicago-area bands, many from the city, performed in 11 venues and found performance spaces Friday and Saturday as part of the annual Mount Prospect event. And music lovers were ready for it, as festival-goers enthusiastically walked between concerts or browsed the merchandise at 56 Artisan Fix, an arts and crafts fair at Lions Park Band Shell on Saturday afternoon.
The free celebration of music continues from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday with performances by General Joystick, Gina Gonzales, the 56 Hoot Band and more, including a Disney Sing-Along Night at Capannari for young music fans in training.
